David Earl Evans, age 79, of Poulsbo, Washington passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 in Silverdale, Washington. David was born August 27, 1942 in Vancouver, Washington to Barney and Geneva Evans.
David grew up in Washington and graduated from North Kitsap High School. He later joined the United States Air Force in which he served from 1962-1965 where he ended as an E-4. He was a morse intercept operator in Vietnam. Throughout the rest of his life, David was proud to be a veteran.
Following his military service, David married Beverly Griffin on April 22, 1966 and they enjoyed over a half a century of love and life together. The couple were blessed with two sons which later led to multiple grandchildren and a great grandchild.
David worked as a Puget Sound Naval Shipyard machinist and was an apprentice at PSNS, however his primary career was that with Poulsbo Telephone from where he retired.
David was a strong, quiet man who loved his family. He loved Bev (and anything she cooked!), and always called his sons his boys. He taught those around him important lessons like not giving up, and how to figure things out and to fix it yourself! He made sure his boys knew how to fix cars. David had passions for ham radio (of which he was a club member for many years), hiking and camping, motorcycles, and spending time with his family.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Geneva Evans of Island Lake.
David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverly Evans; his sons Corey (Aleta) Evans of Dillingham, Alaska and Aaron (Amy) Evans of Port Ludlow, Washington; 6 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, James (Patty) Evans of Tacoma, Washington.
