David J McCarroll

Our beloved David James McCarroll was born on October 3, 1948 in Deer River, Minnesota. His parents were Inga McCarroll (deceased) and Joe McCarroll (deceased). David McCarroll and Myrna McCarroll (deceased) raised ten children. Dave owned his logging business and built logging roads around Hood Canal. He mastered heavy equipment and was appreciated for his welding prowess amongst many other talents. His home away from home was Navy Yard City Metals where he worked for ten years as a CDL driver. His nickname was Grandpa.

When Dave was little, his brother and sisters called him “Cuddles”. He wanted to be a tricycle mechanic when he grew up. Dave had a passion for restoring vintage cars. He was a demolition derby champion. Dave loved animals, being around nature and enjoyed the smell of wood. He was charismatic, had a sense of humor, quick witted and had a nickname for everyone. If he picked on you, then he liked you. Dave was strong, a hard worker and had a solid conviction that providing for his family was his purpose. He loved unconditionally.

Dave was a loving father and cherished his children: Sons: David Lee McCarroll (Utah); Michael McCarroll (Washington); Axel McCarroll (Washington) and daughters: Dee Jackson (Minnesota) and Tarri Ziese (Washington). Stepchildren: Dee Lowe (deceased); Chris Sanchez (Washington); Jimmy Harp (Washington); Tonya Jaynes (Spokane); Bonnie Harp (Washington); Angel Harp (deceased).

Dave is survived by his brother, Michael J. McCarroll, brother and sister-in-law, Bev McCarroll (Minnesota); Judy Pierce, sister and brother-in-law Larry Pierce (Minnesota); Steve McCarroll, brother (Washington). He is preceded by Jean McCarroll (sister) and Kenny McCarroll, (brother). He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces many cousins and friends whom he loved and adored.

Dave was called home on Friday, September 20, 2019 and will be laid to rest with Myrna McCarroll.
