He graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1960. He later attended Colorado State University where he would meet Betty Ann Skinner. They would soon be married April 10, 1965 in Littleton Colorado.
After they married he joined the Navy and he started his family. Having three sons and one daughter, Michael Scott Bratcher, Ted Alan Bratcher, Curt Wayne Bratcher, Tracy Ann Bratcher. Don attended Purdue University where he studied Engineering while in the Navy. After the Navy took he and his family around the country for a few years they settled in Bremerton, WA. This is where Don would retire from the Navy after serving 10 years. Computers then became a central part of his career with the last 15 years working as a programmer/web master from home or anywhere he traveled up until his passing.
Don was very active in the sporting community for many years. He coached as many of his kids different sporting teams they played in as he possibly could, he continued to coach for many years even after his kids were grown up and no longer playing.
Don adored his wife of 45 years and was always there for his kids. In his later years flowers were one of his great enjoyments, he always had his Fuchsia's and Begonia's to look at through the window.
Don was preceded in death by his Wife: Betty Ann and his Parents: Roland and Lorene.
He is survived by his Sister: Betty Matkin of Colorado Springs. All four of his Children: Mike of Spokane WA, Ted of Spokane WA, Curt of Port Orchard WA, Tracy of Salem OR, eleven Grandchildren: Keith, Kevin, Ashlee, Jeremy, Jayme, April, Jamie, Zachary, Ted Jr, Nolan and Rachel. Seven Great-Grandchildren: Ayden, Abigail, Keith Jr, Haunaleah, Audrey, Deric Jr and Tucker.
Don lived an exceptional happy life.
