

He grew up in the Chicago, Illinois area and Springfield, Massachusetts. He attended college for 2 years and then enlisted in the U.S. Army Engineers for 4 years and 3 months.
After World War II ended, he married Molly Riley Carter in Alexandria, Virginia on Christmas Day of 1945. He graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Arts and then attended Dallas Theological Seminary in Texas, graduating with a Masters in Theology. He also earned a Masters of Education at the University of Oregon.
He accepted the Lord as his personal Savior on July 4th, 1943 in Corvallis, Oregon. His life work was teaching and preaching God’s word and loving people to Christ. He was the fourth generation to serve as a Minister of God. He served as pastor in small churches in Louisiana, Oregon and Washington. He taught elementary school in Oregon and Washington for 30 years. His last church as a full-time Minister was as Pastor of Silverdale Bible church, now Silverdale Baptist Church. After that he ministered to churches in trouble and God has healed them and they have prospered. One of them he served as Interim Pastor was Sylvan Way Baptist Church. He was a pulpit supply for many other churches. He was awarded an Honorary Navy Chaplaincy for his work in Jackson Park Navy Chapel.
The last few years of his life were at Christa Shores where he prayed for people and their needs. He was faithful and used of his Lord and God.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon L. Thompson of Beaverton, Oregon and three sons, Daniel E. Peterson of Covina, California, Timothy D. Peterson of San Anselmo, California and Mark R. Peterson of Silverdale, Washington and 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death and heaven by one daughter, Rebecca Annette Peterson in Roseburg, Oregon at almost 3 years old, and his wife, Molly Riley Carter Peterson of Silverdale, Washington, May 9, 2005.
