It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Eddie Castillo Tacardon, 67, of Bremerton, Washington, who passed away on June 4, 2026, after living a full and beautiful life.
Eddie was born on March 21, 1959, in Lapog, San Juan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to Rupino Tacardon and Diaming Aderinto. On July 3, 1973, he immigrated to Hawaii, where he attended Kaʻu High School.
Eddie proudly served his country in the United States military for 22 years. During this chapter of his life, he met the love of his life, Denia, and together they built a beautiful family. Following his military retirement, he continued his career as a Project Manager with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, where he worked for 20 years.
Eddie was affectionately known as "Papa" by family and friends, and will always be remembered for his love of the great outdoors, his frequent visits to local tribal reservations for what he fondly called "class," and the joy he found in cooking for those he loved. He treasured time spent entertaining his grandchildren and creating lasting memories with family and friends. He was an active member of the "Ferry Gang," his parish community at Holy Trinity, and Jackson Park in its earlier years.
He enjoyed watching movies, working around the house, building and fixing things, and listening to the greatest hits of his generation on Sunday mornings while making breakfast with his signature hazelnut coffee creamer close at hand. He will be fondly remembered for his delicious cooking, lively gatherings, unwavering generosity, and deep love for family and friends. Above all else, Eddie will be remembered for being "Dad"—the rock, foundation, and patriarch of the Tacardon family.
Eddie is survived by his devoted wife, Denia Tacardon; his children, Ada-Faye, Andre and his wife, Michelle, Edison, and Nikki; and his beloved granddaughters, Ava Maleena, Aliyana Grace, Alessandra, Lucia, and his grandson, Leon. He is also survived by his siblings, Angilita Camba, Felipe Aderinto (Trinidad Aderinto), and Brenda Tacardon-Ortiz, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, humor, and steadfast love.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind and the enduring legacy of love, strength, and dedication he instilled in all who knew him. Eddie's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
