John Luke was born, raised and spent his life in Bremerton. John was not one to be idle starting his first job at a young age at Bay Bowl as a pin setter, then a janitor, eventually retiring from there. For many years he also worked Saturdays at his uncle Earl Baxter’s Bethel Feed Store in Port Orchard. John’s leisure time was occupied with his bowling leagues, watching western movies, and sports. He was a loving uncle and never missed an opportunity to tease his many nieces and nephews, besides teaching them croquet, sharing his comics and taking them to the movies. John was a family guy who loved being with family in any capacity, whether it was for the holidays, celebrations or the family camping trips. While John was a rather quiet, gentle man no one was a stranger to him. He made many acquaintances and friends whether he was on his daily walks, in the grocery store or riding the bus. He is preceded in death by his father John Luke; mother Violet Keegan; three sisters Jean Tellinghusen, Mary Denton and Viola Tibbetts. He will be dearly missed.
You are invited to attend a graveside service and reception on Friday, November 6 at 2:00 pm at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
