Born July 28 in New York to Jacob George and Catherine Mary Rebhan. He worked as a paper deliverer at a young age. At the age of thirteen, he worked as a baker. At sixteen John went to work in the Navy and worked in the Brooklyn Shipyard as a foundry molder. John went into the Navy at the age of seventeen. He worked making oil drums until 1952, then he went back to the shipyard in Brooklyn during the Korean War until 1965. John then came to Kitsap County to work in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He worked in the yard for eighteen years, then retired after 36 years at the age of 55. Preceding John Jacob Rebhan in death are his father Jacob George, his mother Catherine Mary, his first wife Rose, and his second wife Phillis. Leaving behind his companion Eliza.
