Leland L Caster
Leland L Caster, born in Albany, Missouri, son of Alexander Virgil Caster and Georgia Irene Woody, passed away quietly in his sleep at the age of 83. He spent his early life in Windsor, Santa Rosa and Vallejo, California.
He joined the Air Force after high school and trained as a Medical Technician at Fort Sam Houston, TX. He went to Parks Air Force Base in Pleasanton, CA, Iceland, George Air Force Base, CA and Victorville, CA. He completed Medical Service Technician Training at Gunther Air Force Base, Gunther, AL, and Allergy and Immunology Training Course at Andrews Air Force Base, Washington, DC. The Air Force sent him to Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Korea as an advisor. He came back to the states to Malmstrom Air Force Base Great Falls, MT, where he retired.
He moved the family to Bremerton, WA and joined the Doctors Clinic as an Allergy Technician, Lab Assistant, as well as adding Medical Supply Supervisor to his job of 25 years.
He is survived by wife of 61 years, Sandra Mayse Reed Caster and family in Kitsap County. Daughters: Debra (Struwe) Rye (husband James), Donna Forbes (late husband Sherwood) and Della (Eldridge) Pender (husband Steven). Grandchildren: Travis Struwe, Paul Struwe (wife Janel), Nathan Forbes, Jacob Forbes (wife Shauna), Shelby Burtis (husband Robert), Jesse Caster-Eldridge (Jaimie), Lacy Lavery (husband Matt), and Hannah Brambila. Great Grand Children: Annabelle Struwe, Landon Struwe, Emma Sablan, Kari Miller, Nathan Forbes Jr., Hunter Forbes, Jonah Forbes, Kaleah Forbes, Dylan Forbes, Jordyn Forbes, Emma Forbes, Megan Serka, Abby Serka, Michael Burtis, Liam Dickerson, Avery Caster, Audrey Noble, Dakota Lavery, and Lukas Brambila. Great Great Grandchildren: Jared Forbes; and little Maysie Pippins is on the way. Also survived by one brother, Drew Caster from Vallejo, CA, married to Patricia.
He enjoyed traveling, genealogy, outdoor yard work, listening to/watching baseball and football and his family.
