

1949 - 2023
Leon Harris "Lee" Jones, late of Bremerton,
passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023 at
Forrest Ridge Health and Rehab at the age of
74 from cardiopulmonary arrest and
congestive heart failure. He was a loving
husband to Erlinda Barrientos Jones, father to
Ronell Barrientos Jones, and father-in-law to
Sherly Pantouw-Jones. He was also a beloved
grandfather to Alex'zander Kenneth Pantouw
Jones, Alexis Lovelle Pantouw Jones, and
Kai'zaiah Pantouw Jones. Leon was
remembered as kind, jolly, and full of wisdom.
He enjoyed wood working, sharpening knives,
hunting, fishing, metal detecting, farming,
gardening, and watching western movies and
hunting videos on YouTube. He will be dearly
missed by his family and friends, especially
for Sunday brunch at local diners, spending
the holidays together.
Leon was born on April 10, 1949 in Rumford,
Maine. He served in the US Navy from 1972
to 1993, during which time he was an
electrician and was stationed in San Diego,
CA, Honolulu Hawaii and Bremerton, WA.
During his service he was awarded the Navy
Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service
Deployment Ribbon, Meritorious Unit
Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary
Medal, and the Good Conduct Award. Leon
Barrientos Jones got married to Erlinda
Barrientos Jones on May 14th 1980 in San
Marcelino, Zambales and had his only child
Ronell Barrientos Jones in Honolulu, Hawaii
on November 1st 1985. After being stationed
in Bremerton, WA in 1989, Leon retired from
the US Navy in 1997 and resided in the area
until his passing. He was remembered as a
tough yet gentle and loving person, full of
wise life-hacks advice and always kind and
forgiving. His absence will be greatly felt
during our family Sunday brunches at local
diners, holiday gatherings, birthday
celebrations and our day-to-day lives.
Leon is survived by his wife Erlinda
Barrientos Jones; son Ronell Barrientos Jones;
daughter-in-law Sherly Pantouw-Jones;
grandchildren Alex'Zander Kenneth Pantouw
Jones, Alexis Lovelle Pantouw Jones, and
Kai'zaiah Pantouw Jones; and sisters Rita
Jones, Laura Jones, Barbara Jones, and Bonnie
Jones. Leon was preceded in death by his
parents, Marion Jones and Kenneth Jones;
Marion was Leon's mother, and Kenneth was
Leon's father. Family and friends are invited to
honor the life of Leon at the Miller-Woodlawn
Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Friday,
July 28th 2023 at 1:00pm. The address is 5505
