She was born in Elizabeth New Jersey to James and Lillian Lawlor. She married Harry W. Hendricksen on Nov. 9, 1940 and a daughter, Gail, was born before Harry went to war in the Pacific Theater. After the war sons Richard and Jack were born in Roselle N.J. before the family moved to Clark Township where daughter Nancy was born. Both Louise and Harry were active in the founding of the local VFW Post where Harry served as Commander and Louise lead the women’s Auxiliary.
In 1962 the family moved to California where they settled in West Covina where Louise kept house and raised the children as they attended school and Harry worked for Douglas Aircraft Co.
With all the children married and Harry retired they moved to Poulsbo WA. Where they were both active in the Sons of Norway and Louise at St. Olaf’s Church. Lousie joined daughter Gail as a member of the Central Kitsap Women’s Club where she was the Sunshine Lady up until the time of her death.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry, sister Ethel, brothers John and Jim and children Gail Burson, Nancy Cass and Jack and grandson Trevor. She is survived by son Richard and his wife Mary, and their children Kira, Leif and his wife Karima, Hans and his wife Kayley, Joe Page and his wife Mellisa. She is also survived by son in law Dyke Burson and his daughter Kyla Tanaka and her husband Barry; son in law Bryan Cass, and his daughter Heather and son Patrick; and by daughter in law Brenda Hendricksen and her daughter Kelsey. She also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren as well as the children and grandchildren of numerous friends and relatives to whom she was Aunt Louise or Grandma Louise.
A Mass to which will be celebrated at St. Olaf’s Church in Poulsbo on Friday, Feb. 8th at 11 AM followed by a reception at the church hall. Memorial donations may be sent to St. Olaf’s Church or to Fishline in Poulsbo.
