of Bremerton
Aug. 18, 1918
to Feb. 10, 2011
Margaret Flora Murphy, 92, of Bremerton, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, February 10, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center. She was at all times surrounded by loving family, friends and the devoted care of the hospice staff.
Margaret was born August 18, 1918 in Olympia, WA to Julia McDonald Schulze and William F. Schulze. Raised on a farm in South Union, she married Roy A. Huber five months following her graduation from Olympia High School.
A homemaker raising her family of four children, she worked at various times in furniture sales, as a telephone operator and in a hospital laundry. Her marriage to John T. Murphy in 1963 brought her and her youngest daughter, Carmen, to Bremerton.
In retirement, she and John enjoyed traveling to see far-flung family, friends and places. They were also ardent Seattle Mariners' fans.
A quiet, gentle woman, she will be remembered by all who knew her for her lovely brown eyes, beautiful smile and wry humor.
Preceded in death by John, her husband of 46 years, her brother, Donald, and son-in-law, Curtis Eaton, Margaret is survived by a large and loving family: children Margaret R. Grubaugh (Jerome) of Seattle, Elizabeth J. Eaton of Olympia, Errol M. Huber (Ellen) of Sacramento, CA and Carmen Kay Fagan (Charles) of Bremerton, as well as 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services under the care of Miller-Woodlawn, Bremerton will be held on Saturday, February 19, at 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hospice Care Center of Kitsap County, American Heart Association, or American Cancer Society.
