Mickie was 7-11 years old during the Second World War, she could tell you stories of the blimps anchored over the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, food ration stamps, blackouts and air raid drills.
She loved music and was an avid piano player. In high school she taught swimming to children at the YMCA, but it wasn’t until high school where she ran into Harold again that the stars lined up and they were married in 1949. Mickie was 17 and Harold was 19. Harold and his father were both working on Grand Cooley Dam so Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tassin’s first home was in tent city where all the dam workers lived.
