Mason C. Lucas IV passed away on December 18, 2025, at just 45 years old after a courageous lifelong battle with spinal cerebral ataxia, a rare genetic disorder. Mason was one of the strongest and bravest souls—he never quit fighting, facing every challenge with determination, resilience, and grace. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family and loved ones, as he transitioned from this life to heaven. Though his life was marked by physical challenges, he met the world with unwavering joy, humor, and love.
Mason was truly the heartbeat of Kitsap County. He couldn’t go anywhere without being greeted by friends or familiar faces. Whether he was working at Seefilm, welcoming customers at the East Bremerton Safeway, or simply out in the community, Mason’s infectious smile and genuine warmth left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He was known for his playful humor, his love of movies and video games, and his enthusiasm for good food—especially meals shared at his favorite places, like Olive Garden. Mason’s silly smile, his peace signs, and his playful gestures brought light to even the hardest days. Life will never be the same without his presence, but his joy and kindness will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched.
Above all else, Mason loved his family deeply. He was surrounded by devoted siblings and caregivers who supported him with love and dedication throughout his life. His nieces and nephews meant the world to him, and the bonds he shared with his family brought him immeasurable happiness. Mason also held a special place in his heart for his friends, job coaches, and drivers, who over time became his extended family—standing beside him through every season of life.
Mason’s life was a powerful reminder that strength is not measured by physical ability, but by perseverance, heart, and love. He taught those around him the true meaning of resilience, kindness, and unconditional love.
Mason was preceded in death by his father, Mason C. Lucas III.
He is survived by his loving mother, Ella Williams; his stepfather, Fabian Williams; his siblings, Dontrel Madison, Antrel Madison, Jumar Lucas, Shalesha Lucas, and Jason Lucas; his cherished nieces and nephews; longtime caregiver Maria Escobedo; and many extended family members, dear friends, caregivers, job coaches, and community members who loved him deeply.
