My mother, Norma Ainsworth Brady, considered Melba a dear, dear friend.  I treasure the stories they would tell me about their youth and the fun they had together growing up in Port Orchard.   We were living many years elsewhere as an Air Force family, but when Mom and Dad returned to WA and retired in Manchester,  the two cousins again kept quite busy.   Together they wrote the "Gorst, Siegner and Ainsworth Family History".  What a treasure for the family to have the memories written down by those two grand ladies.  I just loved it when Melba would say to me, "oh sweetie, you're a pilot, just like our Uncle Vern Gorst, how wonderful!.  Melba was truly excited to hear about the adventures Cindi and I would embark upon, "back in the day".  Melba was sincerely complimentary to all, she saw the good in people and events, her heart was golden, her smile unforgettable, her paintings so creative & colorful...and oh! I can still hear her soft, sweet voice.  May this thought give peace to Cindi, Dee, the family and all of us who will miss her~~Harry and Melba together again~~

Melba is the reason I started art classes at Helen's art studio, because of Melba's encouragement that I could paint, even though I never had.  Over the more than 20 years I have know her, I found her to be a loving, kind supporter and second mom. Even this year Melba and I phoned back and forth. Her sparkly energy was always a pick me up. Her pride in being able to use the treadmill, even if for a few seconds at a time, is a great role model for me to keep moving in my 70's. I wish to thank her family for sharing this extraordinary women with so many of us. My heart goes out to you all.
