Norma Jones Lien

1936-2015

Norma passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Archie Lien, as well as her parents, Margaret & Norman Jones, and brother, Raymond Jones. Norma was born in Trenton, NJ, but lived the majority of her years in Poulsbo. Norma’s rich and full life was spent relaxing at the Lake Quinault cabin, enjoying the company of family and friends, dancing, playing cards, sailing on many Big Band Cruises, and traveling to Norway to visit relatives. Norma devoted 21 years to the Kitsap Regional Library as a bookkeeper. After retirement she volunteered many hours supporting the Poulsbo Historical Society, The Friends of the Library, and there are many children in the Kitsap County area who learned to read under Norma’s gentle guidance. Begrudgingly at times, she was a regular at Husky games for over 20 years, supporting Archie’s long love of football. Lastly, Norma frequently could be found toasting every drink with Archie and many, many friends in the Troll’s Den at the Sons of Norway, where she was a member for over 38 years. Norma is survived by her brother, Kenn Jones, children, Lynda (Scott), Michael, Ann (Marylou), step-daughter Sandy (Vince), and beloved grandchildren, Sheena (Kody), Jennifer (Caleb), Brian, Brittany, Jamie (Aaron), Brandee (Brian), Alisha, Natasha, Donald, Vanora-Sue, and 3 great-grandchildren, Emma, Allison, and Lacey, as well as multiple grand-cats. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, beloved mother, loyal friend, and lady bug enthusiast. As Norma was a faithful parishioner, for 50+ years, at Vinland Lutheran Church, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 16th at Vinland Lutheran Church, 2750 NW Finn Hill Road, in Poulsbo.
