

Otis Robinson Jr. was born January 7, 1961 to the late Otis Robinson, Sr. and Dianne P. Robinson. Otis Jr. is the oldest son of Otis and Dianne Robinson. Otis Jr. affectionately was known as “Junior” and “O”. Otis Jr. attended East High School in Bremerton, Washington. However, At the age of 17, “O” decided to venture out in the world and leave his hometown Bremerton for a job as a Alaska fishing boat deckhand. Otis Jr. joined the U.S. Army in 1980 where he specialized as a tank specialist with the Army’s 1st Cavalry Division and he was a Army Private Second Class Artillery Specialist with overseas service. While serving in Germany, Otis Jr. married Ursula (Jung) Robinson Then they later divorced. Otis Jr. began his civilian career as a diesel mechanic for King County Metro Transit and worked on island cruise ships in Hawaii for serval years.
Otis Jr.’s passion was fixing mechanical things and helping people - this drove his life. “O” was known for “on the spot” emergency auto repairs for friends. “O” would give you the shirt off his back to fix your mechanical problems. If you made Otis’s laugh, You just paid him for his work. Eventually, “O” adopted a Rasta / Island lifestyle and married Konjit (Beyene) Robinson and moved to Hawaii where they eventually divorced after having his only child Abigail Diane Robinson.
Otis Jr. loved playing the drums throughout his life. He especially enjoyed playing for Bremerton’s Titans Drum-Bugle Corp in the 70s and most recently with Pacific Alliance Drumline in this year’s Seattle Torchlight Parade. In 2019, “O” decided to return to his Bremerton roots to care and assist his father in his ailing health. “O” will forever be known as North Perry’s own rasta brother, rest easy jah rasta.
He was preceded in death by his Father Otis Sr. He was survived by his daughter Abigail Diane Robinson, Maui, Hawaii; Dianne P. Robinson (mother) Pensacola, Florida; a sister LaTonjia M. Jones (Deryl), Yulee, Florida; brothers Hiram J. Robinson, Pensacola, Florida and Vincent J. Robinson (Cynthia) Vancouver, Washington; Nieces, Torey Robinson, Seattle, Washington; Charita Trice, Jacksonville, Florida and Nephews Trey Robinson, Seattle, Washington and Micah Trice, Atlanta, Georgia and Uncle Darrell Thompson and a special cousin Darlene Robinson, Jacksonville, Florida and Dennis Bentley Dallas, Texas and a host of great nieces, nephews, family, and childhood friends.
