Phyllis Anne Lindahl was born July 1, 1932 to Elsie Mae and McKinley Rutherford Johnson in Tacoma, Washington. She passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2018 with her loving family by her side at home, in Poulsbo, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Elmer LeRoy Lindahl who passed in 2009.
She leaves behind six cherished children, Leanne Lake, Randy Lindahl, Rene’e Higgins, Connie Richards, David Lindahl, and Gayle Thomas, their spouses, her treasured grandchildren and great grandchildren.
As we mourn her passing we take time to reflect on the life of a wonderful woman.
Phyllis was raised in Eglon, Washington where she helped her family run the local fishing resort. She met the love of her life at the Lemolo dance hall in 1948, graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1950 in Poulsbo, Washington.
Phyllis and Elmer married April 19, 1953. They raised their six children on their ten acre homestead off Clear Creek Rd in Poulsbo where she loved to garden, canned fresh fruit, volunteer at school and run the concession stand at the baseball fields.
Later, she found her passion for farmers markets where she sold her garden vegetables, homemade pies and crafts. Also she enjoyed oil painting and attending her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events.
Her selflessness, humor and kindness will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Gravesite services will be held at Miller Woodland Funeral home in Bremerton on Thursday, April 19th at 11:00am.
