                                    

 Bob & Ralph    

Ralph and I met when he came aboard the USS Waller, a Navy Destroyer; in Noumea, New Caledonia in the south pacific. We served together on that ship for the balance of WWII. When at our battle stations we were no more than15 ft. apart; a close relationship, in some tough times. We became close friends. After we put that ship out of commission in Charleston, South Carolina we went on to other assignments and did not reconnect until a ship reunion in San Francisco. The rest is history.

Frienship is the in expressible comfort of feeling safe with a person,
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but poring them 
All right out, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will
Take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away

So sorry to hear of Ralph's passing.  He and Jean were Maltbyites. There aren't very many of ou left.

Brown Family, We just received word from our Maltby relatives of Ralph's passing and we are so sorry to hear the news. Ralph and I (Stan Walster) grew up in Maltby together so I had known Ralph nearly all my life. He was a great man, so friendly with the friendliest smile around. We know he will be sorely missed. We loved to talk about our Maltby friends through the years. We (Ralph and Stan) had a great friendship. Sue remembers Ralph with a smile, saying he was always so friendly and always made her feel like he was really glad to see her and have a chat.
