

Rayna Joyce (Harmon) Whetham was born on January 30, 1944 on Kodiak Island in the Alaska Territory to Raymond Royal Harmon Sr and Anastasia “Nettie” (Fadaoff) Harmon. She was raised on Woody Island, AK with her eight brothers and one sister. She began her own family in Kodiak where she survived the Great Alaska Earthquake and tsunami in 1964 that devastated the area. She later moved to the Lower 48 in the late 1960’s and spent the remainder of her life in Kitsap County, WA.
On August 9, 2023, Rayna passed away peacefully at her home in Port Orchard, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ronnie, Lexie, Mitch, Raymond Jr “Skipper”, Paul, Maurice and Danny. She is survived by her sister Leanna Castillo of Petaluma, CA, brother Jim Hartle of Amanda Park, WA, sister-in-law Cindy Harmon of Neilton, WA, her children Raymond Lohse, Leanna McKinnon, Lisa Monroe (Nate Mathews) and Ben Monroe (Dawn Johnson), five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren all of Port Orchard, WA and numerous nieces and nephews from Alaska to Hawaii.
