Robbie Beatrice Nettles

Robbie Beatrice Nettles was born on May 27,1924 in Chicago,Ill. Robbie has 11 children, 22 grand children, 49 great grands and 10 great great grands. I'm Chicago, Robbie worked for Dept. of Navy in Forest Park, Ill, later she transferred to Keyport, Washington, where she became a supply technician at PSNS in Bremerton, Wa. Robbie always remembered her childhood with great fondness, how she helped in the garden and watched her mother can fruit and vegetables. Her father would drive her and her five siblings to St. Joseph, Michigan in order to pick fruit. Her summers where spent in Texas visiting family and every August in Chicago she attended a picnic and Bud Billiken Parade, this parade still goes on today. Robbie was a member at Ebenezer AME, for over 25 years where she was a Missionary, she also helped in her community and volunteered at Brownsville Elementary under the foster Grandparent Program, where she worked for several years. Robbie married Houston Nettles who preceded her in death as well as her daughter Patricia Nettles who passed last year. Her children; Houston Jr, Elizabeth, Robert, Jerald, Corliss, Nicky, Crystal, Joann, Pearlene, and Jonathan carry on the family along with grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins in Texas.
