Robert Shaw Barber who was 88 years old passed away July 21, 2017 at the Life Care Center in Port Orchard from complications of Dementia. He was born April 4, 1929 in Seattle, Washington to Robert & Mabel Barber. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Barber whom he spent 54 years with. He is survived by his son Michael Barber and his wife Leslie, and Faith their daughter. His daughter Judy Barber. He also has a granddaughter Christle, and 3 great grandchildren.
Robert was retired from Safeway and worked there for 41 years and too the many people that knew him his nickname was Safeway Bob. He also was an active member of the Eagles Club. He was a Veteran of the Army whom he served from January 12, 1951-January 13, 1953. His favorite past time was playing golf and active in a bowling league which he made many friends in. But most of all in his last years of life he enjoyed Buffy his dog.
Funeral Services will be held August 7, 2017 at Miller Woodlawn at 2:00, with Placement following immediately afterwards.
A Celebration of Life will be held September 3, 2017 at Orchard Bluff Mobile Home Park in the Club House from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Located in Port Orchard off of Lund Ave.
