Roger William Scott was born Feb. 18, 1921, in Minneapolis, MN. He attended the University of Minnesota for two years. Then he joined the Navy serving from 1942-1946 on the USS Strickland. After the war, he worked in Japan for Philco in early warning radar. When he returned to the states, he met and Married Hazel Cornelius. He was offered a job at Keyport where he was head of production and control and chief estimator. Roger and Hazel had three children. In 1961 he was divorced and Married Patricia Gore. They moved to Bowie Maryland in 1967 where he worked in Washington DC on torpedo projects for the Navy. Retiring at the age of 53, Roger and Patty moved back to Bremerton. Roger loved camping, sailing, music and dancing. He and his wife Patty loved motor homing and belonged to the Happy Holiday Rambler Club. They were avid snowbirds. Roger loved the sun! He was an active member of the Summit View Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Roger died Oct 23 at the age of 91. He is survived by sons Michael Scott , Darrell Scott , daughter Diana Scott Janzen, 2 stepsons Denny and Doug Gore, and his companion Betty Nelson. He has 6 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Memorial service will be Nov. 3rd at 11:am at Summit Avenue Presbyterian Church in Bremerton.
