Susan Clark Friedman

Susan Clark Friedman, Born May 3, 1950, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, surrounded by her family. Susan was a graduate of Coral Gables Senior High. She began her early work career at the Miami Seaquarium as one of Flipper's dolphin trainers. Her work at the Miami Seaquarium led her to meet the love of her life. While training to become scuba certified, Susan met her future husband, scuba diving instructor pioneer Robert (Bob) Friedman. Together, the two went on to become early pioneers in the diving industry throughout Florida. Susan and Bob discovered, explored, mapped, and named many of the cave systems in North Florida's Springs. Naming just a few, Sue Springs and Friedman Sink of the Manatee Springs Cave System were named for them. Susan then went on to become a nurse, working for over 30 years at Surgical Park Center. Her skills, kindness, and compassion as a nurse were recognized there with many accolades throughout her years of service. Susan shared her love of nature and animals with her family and friends throughout her life. Susan loved diving, camping, hiking, bike rides and trips to the National Park System. She always felt a special connection to nature and a deep love of animals that was unmatched. Susan's love for animals, adventure, and exploring nature was surpassed only by her love for her family and friends. She is survived by her three children, Deb Margolis (Jonathan Margolis), Amy Pellisier, and Mark Friedman, and granddaughter Jennifer Margolis. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Dec 13 at 2:00pm at Caballero Rivero Cemetery, 11655 sw 117 Ave. 33186. Guests are invited to join the family after the service at the home.
