

Ted was born September 25, 1934 in Faunce, MN to Hubert and Theresa Worms as the second of six children and the only boy. The family moved to Cando, ND in 1942 when he was 7 yrs old, then continued on to Wapato, WA in 1947 when he was 13. He graduated Wapato High School in 1952 and began an apprenticeship at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. Following his apprenticeship he worked as a machinist at PSNS for almost 37 years until his retirement as Superintendent of the inside machine shop in 1989.
Ted married Diana (Craig) Worms in Port Orchard on June 15, 1963. They moved to Mason County in 1966, and remained lifelong Belfair residents. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with friends and family, and was active in North Mason Pee-Wees, the PSNS Superintendent’s Assn, the Federal Manager’s Assn, and was a member of the Elks and Eagles lodges.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Coleen Gunter and Phyllis Worms. He is survived by his wife Diana, children Todd (Tina) Worms of Alexandria, VA and Lisa (Glen) Sims of Grapeview, WA, and six grandchildren - Israel Lloyd of Denver; Thomas Lloyd of Seattle; and Theodore, Zachary and Chelan Worms of Valdosta, GA and Scott Schmidt of Cheney, WA. He is also survived by his sisters, Iva (Charles) Lehmann and Katie Worms of Silverdale, WA, and Jennifer (Charles) Eshelman of Phoenix, AZ.
A memorial service will be held at the Belfair Community Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Alaska & Washington.
