Thomas “Tommy” Fynes grew up in Girard, Ohio and was the third of four children born to Harry and Janet Fynes. He grew up burning the candle at both ends and playing with his buddies in the woods, till the street lights came on.
In 1986, he enlisted in the Navy and was stationed at Bangor Washington. Tom met his wife Adrian and they soon were inseparable . Tom was very proud of his family; he enjoyed working on his jeep with his two sons, along with hunting and fishing with friends and family. Tom was a wonderful, caring, compassionate man with a great big heart; he had integrity like no other. He never liked recognition, but he would do anything for the ones he loved. His family never ever wanted for anything. He always said his job was to take care of them. After retiring from the Navy after 20 years in 2006, he started working at IMF Bangor. He had a never-ending work ethic and was the first one in and the last one out. He loved the people; it was always about his co-works, he was the kind of individual who would help anyone, whether he knew them or not.
Tom was a true friend and he never held a grudge. He went out of his way constantly to help others. Tom and Adrian were together over 20 years. He will be missed dearly by all the lives he touched. He is survived by his wife, Adrian; his two sons Riley and Thomas; his Father Harry, his older brother Skip, his older sister Kathy, and his younger brother Danny.
