She came here with her family from Minnesota, when she was in her junior-year at Lincoln High in Thief River Falls. Employment at PSNS for Ilus during World War II brought the family to Bremerton, WA. She attended and graduated from Bremerton High School, and also graduated from Olympic College with an Associate Degree in 1948. During this time, she met her future husband, Don, and many forever friends, especially Carol Zach, her best friend and ally for over 75 years! She Married Donald Olson at Manette Lutheran Church in Bremerton on October 21, 1950, and lived in Poulsbo’s Little Valley until Don’s death in April, 1988. She worked at Keyport, and PSNS for several years on and off, while raising their children, Cheryl, Richard, Rhonda,(Byrne), Deborah, and Brent Olson. She is survived by Cheryl, Richard, (Debra), and Debbie Olson. Victor and Vi resided in Port Orchard until health requirements required a move to Canterbury Manor, in Bremerton, WA. She leaves behind 13 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, and with another on the way! She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and 3 sisters-in-law. Vi was very active in her church, First Lutheran in Poulsbo, WA., and was devoted to her Church Congregation. She enjoyed family get-togethers, her many church friends, and making Lefse and enjoying her Norwegian Heritage! She also enjoyed her various travels abroad, and in the US, especially going to see family in Minnesota, (“the old country”), and Norway! She will be terribly missed by our families! May God Bless and Keep her. A Celebration of her Life will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo at 11:00am.
