Visitacion C. Gragasin, age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2020. She was born on November 9, 1923, in Nambalan, Philippines to Genaro and Restituta Cainglet. Visitacion married Nepomuceno Gragasin and together they had three children: Elsie (Bautista) Gragasin, Jesus “Jessie” Gragasin, and Nepomuceno “Pondong” Gragasin Jr.

Visitacion and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1975. She worked as a housekeeper at the Westin Hotel in Seattle and retired after 15 years. After retirement, Visitacion temporarily moved to Kodiak, AK where she continued to work as a nanny/housekeeper and having such a generous heart, she would send much of her earnings to help support family and loved ones in the Philippines. She returned back to Washington in 2005 where she resided for the remainder of her years spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces/nephews, and extended family.

Visitacion enjoyed life! She enjoyed sports; especially football. Even at an old age, she kept a diary documenting the scores of every NFL game she watched! Visitacion was generous at heart and would share her last meal of the day with those less fortunate. Whether it was with family, an acquaintance, or simply a passerby in her home, her heart compelled her to give. Visitacion displayed herself to be an avid homemaker through her fastidious nature, sewing skills, crochet, and needlepoint gifts. Visitacion will be greatly missed and her memory will be held near and dear to our hearts.
