William James (Jim) Carlson, 83, passed away September 4th, 2018, surrounded by his wife and three children. Jim was born to Carl and Loretta Carlson in Anaconda, Montana on December 24th, 1934. They moved to Kitsap Lake soon after. He attended Star of the Sea School, Bremerton High, and Olympic College. He was a 1st Team All State Football Player at Bremerton in 1954.
His love for athletics led him to a job as a sports announcer at KBRO radio for a number of years. For many years, he coached youth sports teams too numerous to mention. He was active in the community and was past president of the Kitsap County Fair Board and Kitsap Athletic Roundtable.
He became a partner at Minder Meats, Inc. is 1980 with his Father-in-Law and son, where he worked until his passing.
His razor sharp wit, constant one liners and his incredible sense of humor will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jack and Robert. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlyn Minder Carlson, Sons James, Steven, both of Bremerton, daughter Kristin Carlson Tweten of Tacoma and one grandson, Connor William Carlson of Bozeman, Montana.
