Bill was an individual who enjoyed excellent well prepared meals and was a good chief himself. He was a fierce fighter for the legal rights of all Americans and held a well informed global view of current events. He followed politics at all levels and enjoyed a good argument or debate with anyone he could engage provided they were really following the conversation and not just repeating rhetoric. Thoughtful and intelligent, he worked hard at trying to put himself in the other person's "moccasins"; but I shall miss him for his great love of life, boisterous laugh, and willingness to respect individuals whether they were two years of age or 100. He loved a good wine, a fresh story or recounting of an event, and although not always a demonstrative man I could always depend on a warm greeting, hug and a kiss.  I shall miss my brother as well my children and grandchildren.
