William Armand Lussier, passed away on June 10th, 2026 at the Washington Veteran Home in Port Orchard, WA from Congestive Heart Failure after battling Parkinson's with Lew Bodies and Leukemia. Bill Lussier was born and raised in Houston, Texas and was a proud Texan all his life. After graduating from St. Pius High School, he briefly attended the University of Houston. When the war in Vietnam broke out, he and a buddy decided to enlist instead of being drafted and placed in some random branch of service. He enlisted in the United States Navy as his father and grandfather before him had done. Bill was sent over to Vietnam as a Navy Corpsman attached to a Marine Company and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for heroic service. After returning from Vietnam, he married his sweetheart Kate whom he met while riding horses in California. She stood by his side as she took on the role of Navy wife and raised a family with him. He went on to get a degree from the University of Nebraska and became a Physician Assistant in the Navy, serving for 29 years, retiring as a LCDR. He loved helping those sick and injured and took his Hippocratic Oath very seriously. Beyond the Navy, Bill was often involved with Volunteer Rescue Squads, where he and his wife, Kate, were EMTs in the city of Virginia Beach. He was often involved in the Knights of Columbus and always enjoyed helping out a neighbor. He loved his family, his guitars, fishing, reading Westerns and he loved his Heavenly Father.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine Elizabeth Lussier, his brother Robert Lussier (Lynn Lussier), his sister Linda Goff (Glenn Goff), his son Bill Lussier USAF – Lt Col (Cris Lussier – USAF Ret), his son Shane Lussier – USN Vet (Sheri Lussier), and his daughter Chantee Strayer (Elliott Strayer – USN Ret). He is also survived by his grandchildren Cristina Fekkes, Alexander Fekkes, Pierce Lussier, Madison Lussier, Anna Lussier, Phil Lussier (US Army Vet), Noah Lussier US Army – SSG (Caroline Lussier – US Army Vet), Sydney Lussier, Alex Strayer – USAF Reserve, Zachary Strayer - USN Vet, as well as his great-grandchildren, Nicholas Lussier and Charlotte Lussier.
He is preceded in death by his father, Reginald Lussier USN- Ret, and his mother, Patricia Lussier.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/) in memory of William Armand Lussier.
