

Wilma Haines Goodwin Whitaker, 98, went to her eternal rest on Sep 30, 2012. Born in Wapanucka, OK, on March 31, 1914, to John Calvin and Dora Sue (Gunn) Goodwin, she was raised in North Little Rock, AR, where the family moved when she was 9 months old.
Wilma married Franklin C. Whitaker, Sr., and they moved Seabeck, WA, in 1939. She was active in the Lone Rock Sunday School for years and later attended Crosby Chapel. Wilma worked at Kitsap Radio on Callow Ave in Bremerton and later at Forget-Me-Not Florist. She loved her family, and enjoyed golfing, travel, gardening, and cooking. She was famous for baking the “Best Cinnamon Rolls.”
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dora; husband, Franklin (in 1967); son, Franklin C. Whitaker, Jr.; and sisters, Agnes and Grace. Treasuring her memory are her son, Michael R. Whitaker (Carol) of Seabeck; daughter, Marlene Sue Morey (Royce) of Bremerton; grandchildren, Jason, Eric (Crystal), and Tyler Whitaker, Mitch Morey, Sr. (Michelle), Marla Morey, Melisa Barraugh (Dave), Melinda Anthony (Steve), Angela Morrison (Jim), and Leslie Grossruck (Steve); great-grandchildren, Emma, Lilianna, Mitch (Crystal), Mathew (Emily), Megan (Antonio), Monique, Mikaela, Nicole (Travis), Isaak (Heather), Chelsea, Emily (John), April, Mae, Kirsten and Cameron; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation for Wilma will be 10 am – 4:30 pm on Tue, Oct 9, 2012 at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, 5505 Kitsap Way, Bremerton. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wed, Oct 10, 2012 at Miller-Woodlawn. Please leave condolences at www.miller-woodlawn.com.
