

Aaron Jerome Jones was born in Washington D.C., on January 19, 1964, the third of four children born to the late Cleophus “Harold” and Barbara Jones. Aaron’s parents taught their children the importance of family and ensured they spent quality time with each other and their grandparents. Aaron shared fond memories of family trips to Sandy Point Beach and Hershey Park.
Aaron attended D.C. Public Schools, graduating from Phelps Vocational High School in 1982. After graduation he was employed with Kloke North American Van Lines. He also worked at Washington Hospital Center before landing at University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law where he
managed their support center.
In 1990 while driving on Brentwood Road, Aaron met his greatest love and soulmate, Jacqueline “Jackie” Dickens. That first encounter was the beginning of their love story. Eager to start their new lives together, Aaron and Jackie married in April 1993 in Washington, D.C. To their union came Devin Jerome and
Dana Mahogany. Aaron and Jackie created a loving blended family including Aaron ”Boo”, Marquita, Nyeema, and Aaron’s fur babies.
Aaron loved grilling, entertaining, and sports. He was known for his cookouts, organizing Todd Fest, fight parties, and Football Sunday parties. His community involvement is what led to his neighborhood nickname “The Mayor”. He loved gathering the family for celebrations and never missed a chance to host Sunday
dinners or his birthday which he expected to be recognized and celebrated by all.
Aaron’s presence was undeniable and welcoming. His kindness and laughter will always remain in people’s hearts. Aaron touched many lives and will be remembered for his generosity, assertiveness, mentorship, and being a protector of those he loved. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, Pop Pop, brother, uncle, and friend. Aaron’s legacy will impact generations to come.
Aaron was preceded in death by his parents Cleophus (Harold) and Barbara Jones, grandparents Robert and Margaret Hughes, Horatio and Anne Jones, brother Adrian Jones and Mother-in-law, Edna Clark. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Jacqueline Jones, sister Sherri Jones, brother Marquette Jones (Tyese), children Aaron Jones Prue, Marquita Ebony Jones, Nyeema Amira Evans, Devin Jerome Jones (Cierra), and Dana Mahogany Jones;
grandchildren Narianna, Chloe, Carter, Ava, Carsyn, Nacir, Demi, Kingston, Cymir; bonus daughter Taylor Prue Jenkins, and bonus grandson Ti’Marri Hilliard; Sister-in-laws Patrice Dickens and Pamela Moore (Anthony), Brother-in-laws James Dickens and Riccardo Mayo; his neighborhood mom Josephine Campbell
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other close family members and friends.
