With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mr. Adeniyi Durojaiye Okujobi, who peacefully departed on June 22, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on May 25, 1941, in the Ebute-Metta area of Lagos, Nigeria, to Pa Jonathan and Madam Alice Okujobi. Adeniyi’s life was one of dedication, hard work, and love for his family.
Adeniyi began his education at St. Jude’s Primary School in Ebute-Metta and later attended Molusi College in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State. His career began with the Post and Telecommunications (P&T) Limited before he pursued further studies in the United States.
In 1971, he moved to the U.S. to attend Howard University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. He had two sons during this period: Adewale Okujobi, born in 1970; and Adebayo Okujobi, born in 1981, whom he loved dearly and was immensely proud of.
In the later years of his life, Adeniyi chose a different career path, working as a cab driver in the D.C. and Baltimore areas. His commitment to his work and his family remained strong throughout, and he continued in this profession until his retirement in 2015. Adeniyi’s steadfast work ethic and kind nature
were felt by many who crossed his path.
In the early 2000s, Adeniyi relocated from Washington, D.C., to Baltimore, MD where he lived until his passing. His love for his family, particularly his four grandsons, was immeasurable and he was a cherished figure in their lives.
Adeniyi is survived by; his sons, Adewale and Adebayo; and his four grandsons, Maki, Adefolarin, Adebolarinwa and Onyx. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience and dedication.

A celebration of life for Adeniyi will be held Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 BLADENSBURG RD, BRENTWOOD, MD 20722.
