Benjamin Franklin Robertson, son of the late Thelma and Lottie Vick Robertson, born on June 18, 1936, in Calypso, North Carolina, passed away on February 5, 2026 at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC.
Born and raised Calypso, NC, alongside his older/younger siblings, Benjamin moved to Washington, DC in the 1950's and married Louise "Joyce" Moore (also from Calypso, NC). Benjamin worked at various jobs in DC area, including a position as a short-order cook, a delivery driver for a local florist shop, and he was an independent Taxi Cab driver working in the DMV area for over 50 years, until his retirement in 2019.
Benjamin is predeceased by his wife Joyce, and his sons Jeffery and Dale Robertson. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his children, Valerie, Wanda, Gregory and Tina. His grandchildren, Jeremy (Sarah), Andi, Adrian, Anthony (Nicole), Teghan and Aric (Bijon); several great-grandchildren; his remaining siblings, Thelma Gray, Ella Ray, Louis, Larry and Sherron, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and family.
