My heart breaks to hear of the passing of your mom.  I'm so sadden.  Bert and I were long-time co-workers and friends.  I'll always cherish memories of her being such a special lady with a beautiful smile.  Please know she is resting with her heavenly father and free from the worries of this world. Although I was born into the Gray family, it was you who made me feel like I truly belonged, few have the gift to extend that type of love. For that I am eternally grateful. I will miss my buddy.

Bert knew that she was truly blessed.  She let the world know that she had married a good man. Imagine your own bedroom in a brandnew house where you were loved and cared for. Her favorite pasttime was playing cards. She had a competive nature as her grandchildren found out when they played Spades.  Remember, she taught them how to play Spades. She loved Maryland blue crabs. Could eat them daily. Became a familiar face at Ernie's Crab House. Dear friend Elaine had us over for crabs, et al. Bert had a gift for keeping us together. There is a group of us now wondering what we will  do the 3rd Friday in each month. She had a giving heart. Did you get to eat her shrimp&grits? If you were not feeling well you could expect Her homemade soup. My last gift was sweet potato pie and fruit cake made by Herman's sister. I now place $$ in the offering plate because of her. MY PRAYER IS THAT GOD WILL GRANT GRACE TO EACH OF YOU.  LOVE, ELLEN DAVIS

As the brother of Bert's husband Herman, she was a great sister,  wife, mother and friend who was a wonderful lady who will be surely missed.
Bert was wise and had a beautififul relationship with us all, had a great since of humor, and enjoyed lively conversation.
She had a good soul and would help you with anything you needed in life. Bert was a child of God with a great spirit.
All her children grew up to be successful adults with their own family as Bert and husband provided outstanding guidence and parenting skills to them.
