Born in 1948 in Newport News, VA and raised in Kings Mountain, NC, Brenda received her Associates Degree from Strayer University in Virginia and went on to join her oldest sister and mother in Washington DC and work for Jones, Day Law firm for over 30 years. Brenda was an accomplished “Hand Dancer” aka “Capitol Swing” dancer, card (pinochle, gin and bid whist) player and singer. Brenda is survived by her two children, Tawnya and Kevin, her ex Bob, Tawnya’s spouse Nik, her grandchildren, Nadia and Zahra and her sister Barbara. She was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Diane and both of their parents. Brenda was well-loved by friends and family for her quick wit, kindness and generosity. She will be will be deeply missed.
The visitation will be held at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home on Sunday September 12th at 11 am, immediately followed by the memorial service and “Celebration of Life” repast. Masks are required and a zoom/webex simulcast is planned.
