With hearts full of love and gratitude for her life, we come together to honor the life of our beloved Carolyn Smith, who passed on September 5, 2025, at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, Maryland. Born on December 8, 1952, in Washington, DC, Carolyn’s life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, faith, and work—a life lived with grace, kindness, and unwavering strength.
Carolyn’s early years were spent in the DC Public School system, attending Slowe, Richardson, and Merritt Elementary Schools before moving on to Kelly Miller Junior High and later graduating from Margaret Murray Washington Vocational High School. It was here that she built the foundation for her lifelong commitment to excellence, service, and perseverance.
Her professional journey blossomed at the Federal Aviation Administration, where she faithfully served for 33 years. As a Personnel Management Information Specialist Manager, she was admired for her diligence, integrity, and deep sense of responsibility.
Carolyn’s contributions touched not only the success of the agency but also the many colleagues who came to respect and love her over the years. She retired in 2005, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of service.
Above all, Carolyn’s greatest joy and devotion were to her children, Albert and Camile. She built her world around them, raising them on her own with strength and determination. Her love was steadfast, her prayers for them daily, and her life was a testament to the deep bond she shared with them. They were her heart, her purpose, and the center of her every joy.
Faith was the cornerstone of Carolyn’s life. Having accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age, she lived each day guided by that conviction. As a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Glenarden, she drew strength, fellowship, and joy from her church community. Her faith was the quiet force that shaped her values, her compassion, and her enduring love for others.
