

Catherine was born July 28, 1940, in Nelson County, VA to the late Steve and Catherine Scott. She is preceded in death by four siblings (George Scott, Frank Scott, Nellie Brown and Margaret Chase). Catherine, also known as “Tootie” graduated from Nelson County public schools.
Catherine worked at the Safeway corporation for 12 years. After leaving Safeway, she explored entrepreneurship in the Import/Export business. She also worked as a Certified Insurance Agent for Aflac and eventually retired in 1995.
Catherine took pleasure in shopping for antiques and spending time with her close friend Erma. She enjoyed watching old cowboy movies. She was also an avid Washington Commanders football fan and enjoyed watching the Sunday games. Catherine loved to host her annual New Year’s Day dinner for family and friends. She would always say it was the “first dinner of the new year.”
Catherine was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother as she was affectionately known as “Pudge” to her grandchildren. She is survived by three sons: Donald (Bobette), Gregory, and Kevin (Tracey) and one remaining sibling: Ms. Ruth Bowling of Alexandria, Virginia; six grandchildren: Shaun, George, Aaron, Allison, Anitra and Devin; 7 great-grandchildren; one special niece (Casandra); and a host of nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and close friends.
