Cedric DeErrol Alexander was born August 24, 1960 at Columbia Hospital in Washington, DC. He was the second born to the late James and Margaret Alexander. Cedric was baptized into the Baptist faith at Randall Memorial Baptist Church at an early age. He went through the Washington DC School system attending John Burroughs Elementary School, Taft Jr. High School, Mckinley Tech High School and where he graduated in 1978 and was a proud student of the printing program at Lemuel Penn Trade School. Soon after graduating he landed a job working as a Press Printer Operator at Gumphrey Printing in Silver Spring, MD and later worked for Minute Man Press, where he worked for several years. While working as a Press Operator he also worked in the capacity as a Security Guard at People's Drug and apartment complexes through-out the DMV area with International Security Corporation. Cedric's number one hobby was working on cars, where he would work on cars of his family and friends. In 2000, he began to work for Auto Zone, where his career spanned 20 years, doing what he loved to do which was helping people as an Auto Parts Driver and Commercial Manager.
On April 8,1983 Cedric and Nola Alexander welcomed a precious gift to the world, their daughter Monique I, Alexander. In 2011, he married Shenita C. Seay and became the step father to Weldon Genies and Marquita Genies.
Cedric was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed spending time with family, which brought him much joy. He loved eating seafood and also loved watching his favorite football team the Washington Redskins. He loved telling jokes, taking risks, being the life of the party and everyone he knew had a nickname. He also touched the hearts of many and was available to everyone who needed him.
Cedric was called home on May 4, 2021. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Cedric leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Shenita C. Alexander, (1) daughter; Monique I. Alexander; (5) grandchildren; TaLayia Alexander, LaShay White, Marshawn White, Raniya White and Raysean White, (2) step children; Weldon Genies and Marquita Genies, (4) step grandchildren; Rakiya Washington, Skyy Genies, Weldon Genies Jr and Christopher Genies; (1) son-in-law; Ricardo A. White, (3) sisters; Michon D. Wilkins, Meshae Alexander-Russell and Kesia Y. Alexander; mother-in-law; Rosetta M. Seay; (3) sisters-in-law; Dorothea A. Thompson, De Anna Brown and Andrea Williams; (2) brothers-in-law; Donald M. Wilkins and Rodney Russell and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
