On February 06, 2025, Chase Emmanuel Myles went home to be with the Lord. He was born July 1, 2004, in Silver Spring, MD to Ronald and Michelle Myles. Chase was the youngest of two children. He completed his primary and secondary education in Washington DC at Saint Anthony Catholic School. Following his high school graduation from DeMatha Catholic High School, Chase was a third-year student at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, majoring in Communications.
A loving and dedicated young man. Left to honor his legacy is his loving Father, Mother and Brother Collin Myles (Zainab); Grandmothers Emma Jean Contee and Darline Simons (PopPop Don); Aunts, Cassandra Contee, Linda Myles and Georgia Ann Hendricks; Uncles, Ralph Contee (Denise), Scott Simons (Georgette), Shawn Simons (Jackie); Cousin Dereix Glover and a host of Great Aunts; Great Uncles, friends and loved ones. Chase’s laughter and generous spirit will be missed.
Chase received the Lord as his Lord and Savior early in life. His story to the world is summed up in his favorite Bible Scripture; Galatians 2:20 (NKJV):
”I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Chase greeted everyone with a friendly smile. He mastered great skills early in life of being respectful to those that crossed his intersection of life. Chase made insightful comments which impressed his teachers; one was “poems are just like songs!”
Chase loved fashion. He and his brother would always have discussions on the latest fashion trends. They would always talk about the latest sneaker drops. He loved to go thrifting with his friends to find that perfect vintage piece. Chase loved to work out, He and his dad would go to work out at 4am in the morning.
He left a great impression on the people he met. A statement from the Temple University President, “I’m heartbroken by the senseless loss of such a young life…...” Chase was a deeply valued member of the Temple University Community.
The encouragement for us, is to hold firmly to the faith we profess in Jesus Christ.
