

Mrs. Christine Prophet Hutchinson was born November 30, 1918, daughter of the late James and Annie Thomas Prophet. She was born in a small town of Norway near Orangeburg, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2020 at Manor Care Nursing in Adelphi Maryland to beautiful music played by the hospice nurse of AMAZING GRACE. She was the middle child of three brothers and one sister name as followed: Anelle Prophet, Sarah Prophet Hart, James Lee Prophet, Grove Lee Prophet all have secured their place with the master in heaven.
Mrs. Hutchinson attend Rocky Swamp school in Norway South Carolina and a member of Bushy Pond Baptist Church when she lived in South Carolina and would return every year for ( Big meeting ) for many years after moving. When Mrs. Hutchinson moved to North Carolina she worked at the Navy base Mrs. Hutchinson moved to Washington DC and became a member of Mt Airy Baptist Church In Northwest DC. She found her devoted church home at New Samartian Baptist Church in 1976. Mrs. Hutchinson became home bound but still stayed devoted to her church home and her faith. Mrs. Hutchinson retired from Capital Hill Hospital after many years of service as a environmental specialist in the emergency room.
In her retirement years she enjoyed going on trips with the late Mr. Jimmy Roberts group.
She was able to take small trips around the city and loved meeting people. Mrs. Hutchinson was very honored to be a resident at Delta Tower in NE DC. She loved her apartment on the 10th floor she would say that the lord set her high above she could open her curtains and see over the whole city. She feel blessed to be placed in a safe and secure environment with beautiful friends and the people that worked in the office, the security that she would check with a few times at night to see if someone is looking for her and the aides that came to help with her daily living after she got older in years. She was happy to say that she beat everybody doing the ( ELECTRIC SLIDE) loved music and dancing. She loved the hellos and kisses that was sent to her from the staff at what she called the old name of (Old Soldiers Home) ARMED FORCES RETIREMENT HOME.
Mrs. Hutchinson was married to the late Daniel Hutchinson and out of that union they had 9 children
James Daniel, Ernestine, Della, Theodore, Jessie, Harry, Rufus all have secured their place in heaven to be with the lord. She have two children Walter Hutchinson of Washington DC and Alavain Wilkey of Beltsville Maryland and one granddaughter Natalie Wilkey of Beltsville Maryland and many nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives, and many friends.
