Born on May 9, 1956, in Washington, D.C., she was the beloved adopted daughter of the late Jesse James Hopkins and Ada Whitner Hopkins. She was also the youngest sister of the late James Whitner Hopkins and Jessie Carolyn Hopkins.
Darlene leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including two daughters: Mrs. Kizzy Miller of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Mrs. Audrey Vincent of Indian Head, Maryland; as well as two sons: Mr. Don Washington of Oxon Hill, Maryland, and Mr. David McIntyre of Washington, D.C.
A private visitation in honor of Darlene will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, Maryland 20722. This will be followed by a public burial service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Her family and friends will deeply miss her presence, and may her soul rest in eternal peace.
