We will miss the talks & updates on The Redskins & Terrapins But most of all we will miss the cheerful almost Santa like laugh & the memories of a kind & friendly person. Rest in peace Uncle Mac.

We are so sorry to hear this news. Our prayers go out to the entire McCaffrey family. Mac made Margie and I feel welcomed when we joined the Holy Redeemer Bowling League in the early 70's. Mac and Betty came to our wedding a few years later. As our friendship grew, I helped Mac coach Susan and Kathy's basketball team when they were 15. Mac new only a little about basketball and I new nothing about coaching teenage girls. We got through it and I benefited greatly from that experience watching and learning from him, not about basketball but about life. We will miss running into him at Holy Redeemer or the Giant.

Our families lived only a few miles apart yet rarely got together except at weddings, funerals, and family dinners at Aunt Catherine's which I regret after reading the wonderful touching tribute to Mac.  My sympathy goes out to Betty, David, Sharon, Cathy, Susan and all that miss Mac. May you all find peaceful strength in your unique memories of a man that lived a good long life and shaped your life through positive examples and experiences.  I am sure my family (Dorothy, Eddie, Dave and others will welcome Mac to paradise with open arms-a devout Earthly life leads to rewards in Heaven.  I have had to adjust to life after the much too early passing of my family members; may you all find peaceful strength in your unique memories of that extraordinary man that helped shape your life in a positive way. Prayers to all of my McCaffrey family! There were so many good times had in the McCaffrey house! Too many to tell. There will always be so many great memories-pizza, rides in the blue pickup for slurpees, bar-b-que, spring fairs, slumber parties... May your dad rest in peace and not cause too much havoc with my parents in heaven!  We will miss him tremendously.

I did not know Mac very long but in the little time that I had the pleasure to meet and know him he was such a sweet man! I could def. see the true love he showed for his sweetheart and wife Betty!
