

Dewey Anthony Madison, son of the late Russell Thomas Madison and Alice Louise Bell was born on November 11, 1951, and raised in Keystone, West Virginia. Dewey was called to his heavenly home on August 3, 2024. Dewey, affectionately known as “Dew,” attended Keystone Elementary and attended the newly integrated Northfork High School. After graduating from high school, Dewey relocated to Washington, D.C. and began employment with the Federal Government. He worked for a time in the mailroom, and was
determined to advance in his career. Dewey began taking classes at ITT Technical Institute where he majored in computer programming and operations. In 1973, Dewey married Toni Kelly. From this union was born a son, Michael Madison. He continued in his career at the Department of Navy and retired from the Department of Agriculture in 2007. Dewey and Sheila Acker met in 1985, and married in 1989. To this union was born Kevin Madison. Those of you who knew him, know that he was very proud of both his sons. Dewey loved watching westerns or as his father called them, “Shoot ‘em Ups.” One of his favorite sayings was, “Wherever you go, there you are.” Dewey was devoted to his family. Those he called “friend,” knew he was always there for them, as they were for him. He is preceded by his brothers; Russell, Thomas, and Edward; and his sister Emma Blackmon. Dewey leaves to cherish his memory his wife Sheila Madison; sons Michael and Kevin Madison; two grandchildren LaShaela and Nikalai, one great grandson Kaden; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
