Donna May Salata Ellington, 80, of Bowie, MD, passed away on May 4, 2026. Donna was born on October 19, 1945 to Steve and Dorothy Salata. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture she worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (Nematology Laboratory, Beltsville Agricultural Research Center) as a Zoologist for 40 years.
She is survived by her sons Ken (Jennifer) and Kevin, brother Steve (Margie), and three grandchildren: Andrew and Kate Ellington and Tara Martinez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Terry” Terrell Ellington, Jr. and daughter Steffeny May Ellington.
A private graveside service will be held for family at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD.
