Dora Elizabeth Peterson Fountain, during the afternoon of August 31, 2020, peacefully went home to rest in the arms of GOD. Dora was born on August 16, 1929 to the late William T. Peterson and Florence Cabiness Peterson in Alberta, VA. Dora was the eldest of Five children. At an early age, she attended school in Brunswick County. At the age of 12 Dora move to Washington D.C to live with her cousin Wilanna Johnson where she finish her education in the District of Columbia.

Dora married the love of her life Thaddeus Griffith Fountains on October 17, 1948. GOD bless Dora and Thaddeus with 64 loving years together. To this loving union two children were born.

2 Chronicles 15:7 reads, Be ye strong therefore and let not your hands be weak; for your work shall be rewarded. Dora was employed with The Department of the Navy where she retired after many years of services.

One of Dora's joys was to talk to her baby brother for hours on the phone. Dora would often remind William B. to obey her because she was the oldest in the family. Their love for each other was undeniable, they truly had an unbreakable bond.

Dora leaves to cherish her memory two brothers Willie Peterson (Doris), Hillside, NJ, William B. Peterson (Margaret), Alberta, VA, Cousin LeTitia Fields (Edward) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A special thank you is extended to her nephew Ronald Fountain (High Point, NC), niece Aletha’ Chappelle (Richmond, VA) and adopted godson Gary Edmondson (Glenarden, Maryland) who showed her much love throughout her life and illness.

A special Thank you to Sandra Thomas, Joyce Aikins, Leona Dickerson, Naomi Turner and Pam Taylor for their devoted and loving service to Aunt Dora.
