

D’von B’nard Batson was born in Washington, DC on October 31. 1984, to Mary A. Parker and the late Kenneth Batson, Sr. D’von accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age where he attended Kelsey Temple Church of God in Christ. He attended the Prince Georges, Maryland public school system. During high school D’von participated in the marching band and swim team, he graduated from Fairmont Heights High School in 2003. Upon completion of high school, D’von began his career as “Bus Attendant” within the District of Columbia OSSE DOT Department until July 31, 2025.
D’von enjoyed roller blading and skating. In his past-time, he loved being creative with the art “gimp” lace craft. He was excited about baking cakes even though sometimes they weren’t fully done. D’von was known for his distinct fashion and style which always left a lasting impression. His favorite color was
royal blue.
After enduring several health issues for many years, God called D’von to his eternal rest on Friday, August 22, 2025, at George Washington Hospital in Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Batson, Sr; his brother, Kenndo Batson; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Nancy Parker; and paternal grandparents, Bernard and Mary Batson.
D’von leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted mother, Mary A. Parker; brothers, Kente Batson, Kenneth Batson, Jr. (Cheryl), Ormando Batson (Andrea); sisters, Kena Batson, Zynise Coleman (Tyrone); aunts, Janice Leggett, Deborah Joann Parker, Joannetta Reid, Sheila Garrison-Johnson
(Bobby), Corrine Stevenson, Mildred Graham, Elizabeth Batson; uncles, Ray Parker, Bobby Batson, Roy Batson; special niece Keniyah Tolen-Batson and special nephew Keder Batson; great-nephew Dallas; godchildren, Nicholas “Tiger” Smith and Natalie “Phoenix” Smith; special Godmothers Diane
