A graduate of Cardoza High School in Wash., DC, Eli helped break color barriers in intramural golf. He attended Howard, George Washington and later the University of Maryland where he received is BS in Information Systems Management. He also attended the National Defense University and the Armed Forces Staff College for graduate studies.
Eli worked for the Federal Government’s Department of Defense as a systems analyst and IT specialist for over 40 years.
Eli enjoyed music, exercising, golfing, carpentry, bowling, photography, cooking, biking, and archery. Very accomplished and humble, he was a computer whiz, real estate agent, and tax consultant for many.
Other loved ones who have passed on are his parents, brother Richard, sisters Linda and Elaine, and nephews Maurice Hymes and George Michael
Eli was the loving father of Sheila (deceased spouse Fred) and Gdad of Zoe, Elise, and Jadelyn. Eli is survived by his siblings Charles (spouse Gendell), Doris Todd, Betty Williams as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.
Eli loved and supported his family acting as a “lawyer” and advisor making sure everyone was cared for. He was loved by many and known for his sense of humor and charming smile.
