EK as he was affectionately called, was called from labor to reward on Thursday July 29, 2021, after a brief period of illness.
EK attended elementary school in Sinoe County and then moved to Monrovia and matriculated to Ricks Institute when his father, Samuel Thesus and stepmother, Mildred Montgomery Trueh, were relocated for a job assignment to Cape Palmas. He obtained his High School Diploma from Ricks Institute, worked in Yekepa for a few years and then came to the United States of America in 1973. He settled in Silver Spring, Maryland area and have lived in the State of Maryland for over 48 years until his untimely death.
EK was married to Carlanet Louise Nelson and this union was blessed with two children, Tumu and Emil. He was later married to Gloria Browne and this union was blessed with three children, Tonia, Wyette and Everette.
EK worked as a Computer Programmer for the University of Maryland and then the US Department of Agriculture where he worked until his retirement in 2018.
He embraced Christianity at an early age through the training from his parents and eventually became a devout Methodist. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. EK was a loving and a caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He impacted the lives of many with his generous and friendly nature, and he will truly be greatly missed.
EK leaves to mourn his mother, Anna Nagbe, his loving children; Tumu Trueh (Jordene) Tonia Trueh-Dunn, Emil Trueh (Sonja), Wyette Trueh-Bello (Temitope), Everette Trueh; grandchildren: Taniya, Carlos, Camille, Aaron, Kai Kairo Camon and Kayvo. He is survived by his siblings: Emmanuel B., Helena, Edwin Romeo, Beatrice, Le-Etta (Siedio Pache) Elizabeth B. Cummings, Loretta E., El Tumu, C. Ortelius (Serina), Mildred Eugenia, Mina G., nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and close friends in the USA and Liberia.
He was predeceased by his father Mr. Samuel Thesus Trueh and stepmom Mildred Montgomery Trueh, sisters, Comfort and Johanna Trueh, his brother Samuel Yankan Trueh.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, Rest in Peace!
