

On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the merciful hand of God claimed His own: Ethelrine Green (83) of Washington, DC passed away peacefully at home. On August 12, 1941 she was born in Washington, Georgia to the late Harvey Jordan and Lois Sims. She was an only child. Ethelrine was and a product of the District of Columbia Public Schools. She attended Francis Junior High School. After performed various jobs throughout the city she retired from George Washington University Hospital after 25 years of service.
Ethlerine Green was blessed with four beautiful children, whom she cherished with her heart and soul. Ethelrine was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church for over 40 years and served on many ministries. She was passionate about her family and cared deeply about all of her grandchildren. She loved television and her favorite show was “Walker Texas Ranger”. She loved going to the casino and hosting Sunday dinners for the family. She was a very strong woman and that was not to be forgotten.
Ethelrine leaves to cherish in her memory; four children, Anna (Kenneth), Marlena (Dennis), Montrelle (Chinedu), Jason (Monique); eight grandchildren, Kevin, Tirara, Brandon (deceased), Michelle (Peter), David, Alexander (Traci), Derek, Brook and Steven; seventeen great grandchildren; special friends (Kenneth Long and Steven Terry Sr.); her best friends, Alethia Bradford and Sallie Hayes (deceased); and a host of other relatives and friends.
